An Evening with Grito Serpentino

Grito Serpentino was formed by Marc Pinate and José Arroyo while they were both students at Santa Clara University. José accompanied Marc's poetry open-mic sessions around the Bay Area. They hooked up with other musicians, and in a few months Charles Castillo, Mikey Chacon and Tono Burciaga settled into the mix. Their first gigs were at the Agenda Lounge and the groundbreaking poetry series Lunadas. The group produced two albums the first, a self title Grito Serpentino on 1/1/1999, and the second Para La Gente on 1/1/2001.
