PNLRU Statement on U.S. Attacks and Threats to Venezuelan Sovereignty
The Partido Nacional de la Raza Unida vehemently condemns the United States government’s ongoing campaign of military aggression and regime-change efforts against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. This campaign is characterized by extrajudicial killings, violations of international law, and a blatant assault on national sovereignty throughout Latin America.
Since September 2025, U.S. forces have carried out at least 22 declared military strikes against alleged drug-trafficking vessels in the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific. These strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 87 individuals, including many Venezuelan citizens.
We repudiate unequivocally the summary execution of Venezuelan fishermen and other civilians, who, according to all publicly available evidence, posed no imminent threat to the United States, were not afforded due process, and were not subject to any declaration of war. The decision to strike not only the vessels but reportedly to “kill everybody,” including any survivors, constitutes a war crime under international law, and demands immediate accountability.
The situation is growing even more alarming as the United States now beats the drums of war, with senior officials openly threatening direct military strikes on Venezuelan territory as part of an explicit strategy of regime change. This escalation, backed by the steady movement of U.S. naval vessels into the region, represents a grave threat not only to Venezuela, but to the peace, stability, and sovereignty of the entire hemisphere.
This pattern of violence forms part of a long history of U.S. imperial interventions across the hemisphere. These interventions treat Latin American nations as vassal states rather than sovereign peoples. The logic underpinning this aggression today is a continuation of the paternalistic doctrine that guided U.S. foreign policy for more than a century: a doctrine rooted in a conception of Latin America as the “backyard” of U.S. power.
These interventionist practices have repeatedly inflicted suffering on generations of Latin Americans, from economic pressure, to covert military intervention, to military coups and invasions. The imposition of foreign will over our peoples’ right to self-determination must end. The Partido rejects the position that the United States is foreign territory to the descendants of the original inhabitants of the hemisphere, but these interventionist practices exacerbate and amplify the movement of people who have left their place of birth in search of stability within the United States.
The Partido Nacional de la Raza Unida affirms our solidarity with the Venezuelan people, with all workers, communities, and nations in Latin America that reject imperial domination. We demand:
An immediate cessation of all U.S. military strikes, drone attacks, and war operations targeting Venezuelan vessels, waters, airspace, and soil.
A full, transparent, independent international investigation into the killings, including the targeting of survivors, with accountability for those responsible at every level.
A halt to all attempts at regime change, economic coercion, and threats of invasion throughout Latin America.
Respect for the sovereignty, dignity, and self-determination of every Latin American nation.
We reject the continued application of failed doctrines that presume superiority over our peoples. The era in which Latin America can be treated as a strategic playground for U.S. dominance must end. The people of the Americas deserve autonomy, respect, and peace.
We call on all people of conscience across the hemisphere, in Venezuela, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, and within the United States, to raise their voices in solidarity. United, we resist. United, we defend our sovereignty. United, we demand justice.
As descendants of the original peoples of this continent and of those whose lands were seized under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, we know the cost of U.S. intervention. The violence that reaches Venezuelan shores is tied to the violence inflicted on our own communities here in the United States through deportations, criminalization, exploitation, and systemic racism.
Today, we join the Venezuelan people in saying:
No más asesinatos. No más intervenciones. No más guerra en las Américas.
¡La soberanía de los pueblos no se negocia, se defiende!
¡La Raza Unida Jamás Será Vencida
